Eat: Penang Hokkien Lor at Jurong West

I haven't been updating my blog for ages ...but recently I have found this gem and I felt compelled to introduce this to everyone.

If you love Prawn Noodle and Lor Mee, you would fall in love with this as this is the combination of both. You definitely get the best from both world.

Very very tasty soup base, you can taste the yummy prawn noodle soup in a slightly thicken lor mee broth. Top with prawn, meat and fish cake, I have absolutely fall in love with this.

Hokkien Lor

Located at Block 493, Jurong West Street 41 Hawker Centre. This stall also sell prawn noodle, lor mee etc. But my thoughts are, nothing beat the Penang Hokkien Lor.

If u stay nearby, give it a try. If u don't, drop by and give it a try. Must not  be missed!

Price: $3 for normal size, $4 for big bowl :)

Updated April 2017- There is a fire at the hawker centre and I have not found out where they moved to after the fire.

November 2017- There is a new hawker centre just a couple of blocks away housing some hawker stalls from Block 493 but this stall is not there.. *sob* anyone know where they move to, Kindly PM me

Eat: Best Guo Tie @ Fu Chan Food Paradise

The stall
Recently, hubby's colleague introduce him to this stall which sells fried "guo tie" aka dumpling and homemade "la mian" aka noodle. It is pretty authentic and you can see the chef making noodle and dumpling in action.

Price is really reasonable too, and most importantly it tasted soo good that we visit almost weekly now.

I love how the dumpling is fried slight crispy but the fillings inside still retains the juice... juice from the meat literally drip out when you bite into them... it is sooo good!

$5 for 12 pieces
They definitely didnt skimp on the fillings, lots of meat and vegetable. I love it!
Fillings

Wasn't a fan of the minced meat noodle cause i find it a little salty to my liking but noodle texture is really good, and the chef literally only start to make the noodle after you order, how cool is that! And did i mention one bowl of handmade noodle cost $3.50.... it is definitely a steal!

Do give it a try if you are in the vicinity...

Eat: 138 Kway Chap and Porridge @ Bukit Timah Food Centre

Today finally got the chance to eat this yummy and famous Kway Chap at Bukit Timah Hawker Centre. This stall kuay chap usually finishes very early and by the time the Chinese Service finishes, the kway chap also finishes... However, recently i have been going to the English Service and decided to try my luck again.. today Lady Luck is with me, manage to eat the kway chap.

We ordered 3 bowl of chap (big piece of kway tiao), braised meat, egg, pig skin, intestine (for 2 pax) and some salted vegetable... Cost: $10.50... the amount of meat is generous and its very yummy! The meat is very flavourful, pig skin is not fat and full of collagen, and i love the salted vegetable too!

It is also my princess first time trying kway chap and she loves it. She manages to finish one bowl on her own....looks like she is gonna be mummy's kway chap buddy in the future cause daddy doesn't really fancy this....
